NC Demo Blog Hop

Sale-A-Bration (SAB) is such an exciting time for Stampin'! Up.  Today's blog hop is centered around just that.  Showcasing all the incredible products SAB has to offer.  This is the card I swapped at our NC Quarterly Meeting a few weeks ago.  It's one of my favorites, because I really got to play with many techniques!

To start, I used colors Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight.   Here are the cutting dimensions:

  • Early Espresso 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded.
  • Bermuda Bay 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper 5" x 3 3/4"

I stamped using Early Espresso the plane image from the set Sky is the Limit onto the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  Both available only until Feb 15 with a $50 order.  Next, I used the sponge daubing technique to make a water like look.  Did you know when you use Pacific Point and Craft White Ink on Daffodil Delight paper it ends up looking like Bermuda Bay?  Will I do now!

To get the reflection look I stamped another plane on a clear envelope, flipped it over, lined up the wheels and scratched like a lottery ticket.  I should have won Powerball with all the scratching I did!

It's hard to tell in the photo but the heart is topped with Crystal Effects and the for the cloud I used Clear Embossing Powder.

Lastly, cut a 2" piece of Very Vanilla cut the end with the Decorative Label punch.  To do this slide the cardstock in the punch from above just enough to cut one end.

I really love the way it came out and I hope you do too!  Be sure to place your order and grab the Sky is the Limit Stamp Set and Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper before they retire.  As an added bonus for every $50 order you will get your name on my Nifty 50 Board.  Click Rewards for more details..

Don't stop here click on the next blog box and go to another amazing SAB card!

Fancy Fold Fun

Well this is my first official blog post in regards to a card and I'm pretty excited about it.  It was cased from a Shoebox Swap last July at SU Convention and I feel in love with it.  I've been with SU for not even 2 years and I'm still learning everyday.  This card is 1 or 4 I'm teaching for my Fancy Fold Technique Class on February 17.  I've really never dabbled in Fancy Folds all that much, but I'm excited to start.  I hope you can join us!

This card is a regular 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size and can be a little deceiving at first.  Both sides are actually glued down with the middle flap folding down to mail and then propping up by the heart held on with a dimensional.  I used the new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Flowering Fields Stamp Set only available until March 31.  The best part is either or are 100% free with any $50 order!  I used Old Olive Ink and a blender pen with Calypso Coral Ink on the heart to make it match the side paper.  Topped it off with a sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set and a little Silver Metallic Thread.  I hope you like it as much as me!
